Published: Thursday, April 07, 2005 07:28 AM William ‘Bill’ Baker MOUNT VERNON — William “Bill” A. Baker, 67, of Mount Vernon passed away April 3, 2005, at Ross Heart Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Baker and Edna Beck-Baker; a sister, Carol Ann.

His children, Deidra, Beth, Myst and Billy Jr. and seven grandchildren, survive him. He also leaves behind dear friends, Marjorie and Bud; his uncle, Curly; aunt, Mary; sister, Sondra; and many beloved family members and longtime friends.

Bill served in the U.S. Air Force as a Chinese linguist and aerial topographer. During his service he received his education at Yale University. He served in the Vietnam War and had tours in Thailand and Japan. He was an avid photographer, received numerous awards in archery and loved the game of baseball and golf, especially the “after” celebrations.

He will be placed at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are welcome to join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, April 9, at 1 p.m. at the local Mount Vernon AMVETS.
