Uncle Doyle was a special man, one who cared deeply for his family, for God, and for his country. Our nation owes a significant debt of gratitude to him for his tireless efforts on all our behalves. With all he achieved in his career, his family was his highest priority. He led by example. What an inspirational example for all of us who knew him.

Rest in peace, and in the Lord's presence, Uncle Doyle.

My deepest condolences on your loss. I was one of those nameless faces, who never knew the General, but was nevertheless affected by him and his accomplishments. His reach and influence was perhaps greater than any of us knew and his legacy will live on. We've lost a great American, and he's still watching over us. Fair skies and tailwinds, General. Godspeed.

Lois, Jim, Nancy, Mary and Mark, and all your families,

No words can express the sorrow Pat, our family and I feel at Doyle's passing. It has been a privilege to know and work for him, and you will all be always in our thoughts and prayers. As you know, I have known a number of flag officers, and none of them score as high in my gradebook as did Doyle. We were privileged to have known him and his wonderful family for the last 40 years, and were fortunate to have been with you and the Larson family during his last hours. We will remain in close touch.

With our love and prayers,

Jim and Pat Cavanaugh and Family

Mrs. Larson, Nancy, and family -

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Gen Larson's passing. I admired him so very much - he was one of the finest officers I ever served with during my AF career. I count my time as his aide in San Antonio in the early '80's as one of my best assignments ever. I'll always remember his kind, but firm, guidance. Whenever and wherever we met somewhere later down the road, he always had a smile and hug for me. I know he always felt proud in my achievements. May God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear of Doyle's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences and may God be with you at this time of sorrow. It's been many years since I last saw your family but my memories of that time are as clear as if it was yesterday. I could see then what a great guy he was and how much he cared for family.
