The following information was forwarded to the webmaster from Janice Shuman via Aaron Kriegel:

Larry K. Shuman died in his home on June 5, 2007, after a brief illness. Larry was born in Hagerstown, MD on December 1, 1942.

He is survived by his loving family; wife, Janice, son Keith and daughter Judy, all of Beaverton, OR; and an aunt, Theda Mae Loughery, of Maryland.

A Vietnam veteran, Larry retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He proudly served his country for 20 years. He kept close contact with those that he served with and was an active member of the veteran community.

Larry put himself through school and obtained a Bachelors of Science degree and two Masters Degrees, one in business and one in engineering. After his military retirement, he worked in the integrated circuit systems industry, creating quality semiconductors.

Larry was an avid woodworker and craftsman. When he wasn't in the wood shop fiddling with some project, he was in the kitchen cooking up some fantastic meal for his family.

Funeral services will be held next year at the Willamette Cemetery.

I never served with Larry but I had the opportunity to meet him and Janice at the first Western Area Group mini-reunion at the Franconas' place in Port Orford in 2004. I found both Larry and Janice to be very nice and personable people. - Airlee Owens
