James Harry Hebert
June 1, 1941 -- December 21, 2004
Born at Ft Lewis, Washington to Ralph Hebert and Urania Long. Jim is
survived by his son Thomas Dean Hebert, his brothers, David and Robert
Hebert, and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as his "bestest" friend
and partner of 15 years, Maria de Leon.
Jim served 20 years in the Air Force, most of it as a Korean linguist in
the airborne intelligence collection field. He was acknowledged by his
peers as being the best Korean-speaking American any of them ever knew.
Comments added by Darr King:
Jim was an outstanding MI and Airborne Mission Supervisor while serving with
the 6988th Security Squadron at Yokota. He flew a bazillion hours in the
Sea of Japan during the Pueblo incident...circa 1968. Jim was a quiet,
straight-up, professional NCO...a quick wit and one who lived for his
mission and his crew. You're a good man, Jim Hebert...rest in peace
brother!
